REIKI / HEALING ENERGY

Over the course of my spiritual journey, I was fortunate to advance through Reiki Levels One, Two, and Three, obtaining the certificate for Reiki Master/Teacher.

As a scientist for most of my life, I thought Reiki was nonsense and the realm of charlatans preying on people to make money. I could not have been more wrong.

Once I experienced Reiki's positive effects, I became a convert, and so my journey began!

If there is only one thing that you take away from this page, I hope it will be the Five Principles of Reiki (below and here), which many practitioners use as positive affirmations to start their day. Each begins with "just for today" as a reminder to live in the present moment. The past is gone, and the future is not promised.

Read them, consider them, and embrace them.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:

Reiki complements all other types of medical and therapeutic treatments, and can increase the efficacy of other types of healing. Reiki treatment should not be used as a substitute for consultation with a physician or other healthcare practitioner.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A REIKI TREATMENT

From The Cleveland Clinic (source):

"The Reiki practitioner is the conduit between the patient and the source of the universal life force energy; the energy flows through the practitioner’s energy field and through their hands to the patient. (The energy does not come from the practitioner; rather it comes through the practitioner from the universal source. There is no energy drain on the practitioner).

During the treatment, the patient lies on a massage table, fully clothed. The Reiki practitioner gently places their hands palm down on or hovers just above the patient’s body in a specific energy location and uses a series of 12 to 15 different hand positions.

The length of time that the practitioner leaves their hands in each position is determined by the flow of energy through their hands at each location. There is no pressure, massage or manipulation involved.

The patient may experience the energy as sensations such as heat, tingling or pulsing where the practitioner has placed their hands. Sometimes, the sensations are felt moving through the body; some people do not perceive any sensations at all.

Most people feel very relaxed and peaceful, and many fall asleep during the treatment."

GET AN IDEA OF REIKI SELF-TREATMENT THROUGH THIS SPECIALLY-DESIGNED MEDITATION

I created this guided meditation (click on image below) based on key elements of Reiki treatment.

Consider it a "Reiki-lite," to provide an idea of the process of Reiki self-treatment. It is not equivalent to a complete Reiki session.

It is also available on the Insight Timer app here.

LEVELS OF REIKI TRAINING

If you would like to know more about the levels of Reiki training, click on the image to view or download a brief summary. It discusses the importance of the sacred symbols and the attunement process to anyone practicing Usui Reiki today, and includes my Certificates for Levels One, Two, and Three (Master/Teacher).

Each Reiki Master is proud to be able to trace their Reiki training lineage back to Master Mikao Usui, so this is included in the file, as well.
