PHYSICS
On the My Story page of this site, I stress my background as a scientist, and how I try to apply a scientific lens to many of the things that are not yet recognized as "science" in the traditional sense. While virtually every one of these esoteric topics will ultimately have connections to multiple scientific disciplines, I think the study of Physics will uncover many of the connections that will eventually provide the "proof" to someday allow things like psychic intuition, biofield therapies, auric fields, mediumship (and more) to be recognized as bona fide science. That's why this page is entitled "Physics," and includes content related to that discipline and its subdisciplines.
SOUND & VIBRATION
Sound is energy, and it is also vibration. It seems that two of the greatest scientists who ever lived, Albert Einstein and Nikola Tesla, have for years had quotes attributed to them about energy and vibration. Unfortunately, the most compelling of these quotes cannot be verified. What has been verified, many times over, is Einstein's famous E=mc2 theory, which essentially looks at matter and energy as two sides of the same coin. Matter is highly condensed energy.
According to scientist Neil DeGrasse Tyson, "Quantum physics now shows reality is built not from matter, but from vibration and waves....At the quantum level, reality isn’t made of solid particles but of vibrating energy fields. Every particle—from electrons to protons—has its own frequency, and these wave patterns determine everything from chemical bonds to the colors we see. Light, heat, and sound are all forms of energy defined by vibration and frequency."
This relationship is a lot to digest, and it becomes even more fascinating when you delve into the areas of how sound is not only something we hear, but something with potential physical, spiritual, and emotional impacts.

THE SCIENCE AND IMPLICATIONS
The presentation above is intended as an introduction to the concepts of sound, vibration, and frequency. This is a quickly-expanding area in the sciences, so I attempted to collect and summarize (with the help of AI) the most current scientific content available. BETWEEN WORLDS AND WAVE FUNCTIONS
I mentioned above that this topic provides a wealth of information to digest and understand. It gets even better! People who believe in esoteric disciplines, like auric fields, psychic intuition, akashic records, mediumship, and others often don't need scientific evidence to convince them that their experiences are real. However, the vast majority of others do need forms of proof beyond mere anecdote from the experiencers.
As a scientist by training, I am thrilled that we are living in times where that scientific proof is coming--still in very small doses, and through studies that often are directional and require further study--but coming none-the-less.

It was prepared with the help of AI, but I think it does a great job pointing out where there is evidence, where there is possibility, and where claims and reality are very far apart! This area is evolving very quickly, and more mainstream scientific institutions are joining the fray of exploration, so the content will surely be dynamic!
BIOPHOTONS
Biophotons are extremely faint, ultra-weak particles of light (photons) naturally emitted by almost all living cells. Billions of times weaker than the light from a firefly, they are invisible to the naked eye but can be detected by highly sensitive instruments like photomultiplier tubes.
According to Psychology Today, Russian scientist Alexander Gurwitsch first noticed them in the 1920s, and German physicist Fritz-Albert Popp expanded this research in the 1970s, developing sophisticated equipment to detect and measure these elusive emissions.
What makes biophotons particularly intriguing is their apparent coherence. Unlike random light emissions, research suggests they exhibit organization similar to laser light, potentially serving as an ultrafast communication network between cells. Although the claim is controversial and requires more research, Popp's work indicates that our DNA might be both the source and storage medium for this light.
So much more to come as the science evolves. Click on the image below for a recent literature review and summary on the topic of biophotons and their possible implications for biofield therapies.
PINEAL GLAND: THE BRAIN'S CELL TOWER?
According to the Cleveland Clinic, "your pineal gland is a tiny endocrine gland in the middle of your brain that helps regulate your body's circadian rhythm by secreting the hormone melatonin.
Since the pineal gland was the last of the endocrine glands to be discovered — and scientists still aren’t fully sure of all of its functions — the pineal gland has long been a “mysterious” organ. The pineal gland was commonly called the “third eye” for many reasons, including its location deep in the center of the brain and its connection to light via the circadian rhythm and melatonin secretion. Many spiritual traditions believe it serves as a connection between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Chakras are prominent in certain forms of Hinduism and Tantric Buddhism. The third eye chakra is considered to be the sixth chakra in your body. It’s believed to be linked to perception, awareness and spiritual communication and linked to the pineal gland. While there’s no scientific evidence to support these claims, many forms of spirituality and cultures emphasize the importance of the third eye chakra and the pineal gland."
Some persistent theories have suggested that the pineal gland contains a surface coating of piezoelectric (converts pressure to electrical energy) mineral materials, and that certain meditative or other practices increase the pressure of cerebrospinal fluid on the gland, which then can produce electric current. This is one of those theories that mystics, meta-physicists, and others would like to embrace, but traditional science has not.

MANIFESTATION: MIND INTO MATTER
Since the so-called "new age movement" has seemingly been re-ignited in earnest, there has been a significant amount of coverage and content on the topic of manifestation. This generally falls into two broad categories: (1) those where you can bring about physical or emotional changes in your body merely with the power of the mind, and (2) those where your mind and the energy related to your thoughts and intention can bring about changes in the external world (e.g., winning the lottery).
Intuitively, the former seems somehow easier to believe, while the latter seems to be a bit more of a stretch. That said, the anecdotal accounts of people reporting changes to the external environment that they claim to have manifested with thought and intention, alone, can be extremely compelling.
Since the goal of this website from the beginning has been to look through a scientific lens at some of the more esoteric topics, a technical review was conducted on the topic of manifestation.

REMOTE VIEWING DECODED
Remote viewing is the claimed ability to acquire accurate information about a person, place, object, or event that is shielded from ordinary perception by distance, barrier, or time. It is one of the very few alleged psychic faculties to have been studied, funded, and operationally deployed by a national government for more than two decades. The assessment below does three things: (1) it traces the discipline’s provenance through the U.S. intelligence and defense establishment, (2) it sets out a taxonomy separating Controlled (Coordinate) Remote Viewing—the structured six-stage flagship—from related methods, and (3) it weighs the question that matters most to a student: can remote viewing actually be taught?

THE SCIENCE OF SCENT
Aromatherapy is the targeted use of aromatic plant essences — essential oils — to support physical and emotional wellbeing, most often through inhalation or diluted topical application. What was once the province of temple priests and perfumers is now the subject of hundreds of randomized controlled trials. The modern picture is encouraging but nuanced: for several outcomes the evidence is genuinely strong, for others it is promising but preliminary, and the quality of essential oils and study designs varies widely. This report summarizes where the science currently stands, maps specific aromas to the impacts they are best evidenced for, traces aromatherapy from antiquity to the present day, and provides practical, safetyfirst recipes for everyday use. Citations point to the numbered reference list at the back, with an emphasis on peer-reviewed work from the past five years.
